What's New With Ver-Mac's Portable Traffic Signals with Advanced Technology

At Ver-Mac, innovation isn't just a buzzword—it's a mindset. This is how our engineering team designed the latest generation of traffic signals: the TLD-3612-G3 with Advanced Technology, making a leap forward in performance, reliability, and ease of use compared to the previous generation of traffic signals.
So, what's new and exciting? We asked our engineering and product experts to find out.

Traffic Signal Reliability

Rethinking Technology for Traffic Signal Reliability

"We sat down and looked at every component of the traffic signal system," says Serge Beaudry, V.P., Product and R&D. "One of the biggest changes? Moving the location of the radio box to the top of the unit and moving the antenna closer. We also consulted the companies that produce the various components and made them work smarter together. The result? A drastically more reliable product that performs through thick and thin."

Customer Feedback

Intuitive Traffic Plan Programming – Based on Customer Feedback

Our latest generation of traffic signals allows traffic plans to be set up in just a few clicks. We asked our traffic signal specialist, Jeremy Wilson, how we went about reimagining our programming: "It's the result of gathering two years of feedback. We combed through customer support tickets and listened to feedback during training sessions. We then reviewed our programming to make it as user-friendly as possible."

So, how can we program traffic plans? Options include:

  • Selecting a pre-saved plan in a library
  • Choosing pre-made plans for common configurations
  • Building plans from scratch

Emergency Response

Useful for Emergency Response

Jeremy Wilson also states: "Sometimes traffic plans need to be deployed quickly, including in emergency response situations. There may not always be traffic engineers available. These traffic plan setup options make deploying traffic plans accessible to everyone."

While most customers program traffic plans locally via the V-Touch Controller before heading to the job site, it can also be done remotely via JamLogic.

Real-Time Remote Traffic Signal Monitoring

Real-Time Remote Traffic Signal Monitoring & Alerts

Once a traffic signal is deployed, you can monitor your traffic signals in JamLogic for real-time information, such as:

  • Unit location
  • Current traffic plan
  • Signal and battery status
  • Nearby DADs (any Driveway Assistance Device synchronized with the traffic signals)

You can also set custom email/SMS alerts for low battery voltage or malfunctions.

Why Alerts for Traffic Signals?

They make monitoring super easy, and alerts for low voltage or malfunctions allow customers to get any problem fixed quickly, minimizing downtime or signal loss.
We've also seen cases where location data has helped customers retrieve misplaced units and keep operations running efficiently.

Quality Control That Goes Beyond the Checklist

Every Ver-Mac traffic signal undergoes a full week-long outdoor deployment at our facility before it reaches our customers. This is more than a quality assurance check—it's a real-world simulation.
We run TLDs through setup, operation, takedown, and fine-tune everything along the way. So when it arrives, it's not just functional—it's field-tested and ready to go.

Ground-Based Deployment for Maximum Safety

Whether there's rain, snow, or ice… no matter what's on the unit, you don't need to climb on it! We've made sure that traffic signals with advanced technology are safe and easy to deploy. Our signals feature a ground-based deployment system, eliminating the need to climb the unit and reducing risk for your crew.

Ground-Based Deployment

Included Waze Alerts for Traffic Signals

All Ver-Mac traffic signals with advanced technology come with Waze alerts—no additional fees, no extra steps.

Why does this matter? These alerts inform drivers via the Waze app when a work zone with traffic signals is ahead. They give them advance warning to slow down and stay alert, boosting safety for everyone on the road, especially workers.
"It's another way our equipment works beyond the job site to enhance road safety," says Serge Beaudry, V.P., Products and R&D.
