Work Zone Safety Awareness Week

The National Work Zone Safety Awareness Week (NWZAW) is a public health and safety event designed to shine a much-deserved spotlight on how we are all equally responsible for maintaining work zone safety.

Held between April 11th and 15th 2022, this year’s theme is “Work Zones are a Sign to Slow Down.” In 2020 in the U.-S., 857 people were killed in 774 fatal work zone crashes, according to the most recent data available from workzonesafety.org. In Quebec only, the SAAQ reports 544 victims of road work zone accidents in 2020, including 8 fatalities.

As the high season for construction approaches, it is more important than ever to remember to be alert and slow down as we approach and drive through work zones. Increased safety awareness and caution can save lives.

Ver-Mac supports the message of Work Zone Awareness Week, and we will be posting articles and other content on social media throughout the week to spread the word and help increase work zone safety. We will also share how some of our products play an important role in work zone safety.
